What do you think of Robin Hood's $HOOD move?

Brokerage firm Robinhood is joining the trend of continuous trading in stocks. With the launch, Robinhood will become the first major broker in the U.S. to enable 24/5 stock trading.

Would any of you welcome such an option at your broker? 🤔

It's hard to say and it would probably be a matter of habit. However, it would probably stress me out quite a bit while I was sleeping and I wouldn't be able to keep track of what was going on, so I'm happy with it that way.

Somehow I don't understand this, how will they trade when the market is otherwise closed, will they just somehow within the platform?

I think it's not good - traders won't sleep and people who are in the business will be stressed.

I'd prefer to keep it "the old way". I'm fine with having a set time to trade, and then do other things.

Isn't Robinhood the "problem" broker? I haven't followed it much but I've heard something.

So, since I try to sleep at night, and I'm happy to at least have peace at night, I'm not that worried. I see it as an advantage for countries where investors and traders want to be on the US stock exchanges, but unfortunately the US stock exchanges are only open at night. So they can buy and sell during their daytime hours.

So let's see if other brokers follow suit. Probably people will appreciate this option when they introduce it.

Considering my strategy, I almost don't care 🤷‍♂️ But for traders, I guess it will have its advantages right? What are the specifics then? I assume the volumes are ap significantly smaller, no?

I haven't come across the details, or rather I haven't researched them because I don't have this broker. But I guess I'd be worried about more volatility, lower volumes at night, and there may be some overage fees at the end of it too for sure.
